"Sweetie! I need your help!" She shouted, storming into my room.

"Mom! You can't just barge in here! I could have been-"

"There's no time for arguments, Honey. This is about me right now." This wasn't like her. To be this rude and impatient. Something had to be seriously wrong for her to come to me in this state. So I nodded and kept quiet, letting her say her peace. "I need you to fill in for me at work today!"

My heart sank. Mom had a pair of rings that could let the two wearers swap bodies on demand. She always wore her ring, but left the second one in a box under my bed. The only reason I knew about it was so I wouldn't accidentally wear it and cause a scene in her body. I was never supposed to actually use it.

"But why-"

"We don't have time to argue. I'm already running late for work." She snapped, digging through my things for the ring. "I have an important meeting with my boss and I need to get you ready right now."

Franco flipped him off. “That fucking role exchanger may have given me a great rack, but I’m still the same guy I’ve always been. Now fuck off and go tell those bastards at the factory that I’m back and better than ever!”

Vin gave Johnny a worried glance before heading out towards the factory. With him gone, Johnny finally spoke up. “Looking good, Boss. Though I hear you swapped more than just your body.”

The Boss didn’t give him a response. They stared at one another. Then, with nothing more than a grunt, Franco headed upstairs. It took everything he had to maintain his resolve around his second in command.
